About
Hi! I am Janice Lee - former professional ballet dancer, circus performer, Disney performer, face painting artist, costume designer, window fashion designer, puppeteer, physical therapy aide, and hospice RN. As you can see, I have worn many hats throughout my life and thoroughly enjoy the creative process. I have been restoring statues for approximately 30 years, amidst my other endeavors, and am excited to focus on this artistic field that is both challenging and rewarding. My grandson, Andrew, is following in my footsteps and will be working as my apprentice.
Statue restoration is a contemplative process in the same way as that of iconography. There is a raising of one’s heart and mind to God and, for me, the desire “to restore all things in Christ.”* It is an outward expression of my desire to transform brokenness into beauty, and in the case of vandalism, hate into love. May God be glorified in this, my labor of love!
